Shake Shack

10:00 AM

There are not many things in the world that I like more than food. I could probably count them on one hand (let's see: my sister. my two parents. art.) My personal instagram, @cecilelu, is pretty much flooded with pictures of food and I follow a lot of nice food things that make me hungry all the time (have you seen How to Cake It (@yolanda_gampp)? She makes the coolest cakes ever). Unfortunately, I don't generally get the chance to explore the area around me very often and go eat nice things - generally I cook a huge meal for myself at the beginning of the week and eat that until it runs out.

When I make time to go out, I make time to go eat yummy things. I thought I ought to start blogging about the yummy things in Boston.

When Emma and I went to Harvard Square to go to Chameleon, we stopped by the Shake Shack first. Shake Shack is based in New York City, but over time it has expanded out of NYC and across the US (In-N-Out, I'm looking at you. When are you coming to the East Coast? Pretty please?) and is well known for their milk shakes and their angus beef burgers. Unfortunately, I can't drink their milk shakes so I can't vouch for their goodness - lactose intolerance is rather inconvenient, although I know a great place for vegan milkshakes in Boston - but their burgers are amazing.

I love burgers. Well, I love good burgers. I can almost never pass up a real, nice, juicy burger and I have tried quite a few places in Boston and the Cambridge area to find fancy burgers. Shake Shack is great because their burgers are juicy and amazing and still fast food, and I love instant gratification.

My usual order is the Smokeshack burger, because it has bacon and this really unique and tasty spicy red pepper sauce-topping hybrid, and cheesy crinkle fries. Once in a while, I'll also get their lemonade, which is pretty standard (unless you get the flavored one like I did this last Saturday - their mango lemonade combines my favorite fruits). I highly recommend it. It's my favorite fast food burger place in the Boston and Cambridge area (my second is Five Guys, because infinite toppings).
