Whim of the Week: June Favorites

6:00 PM

Since it's the end of the month (or the beginning of the next, since these posts go up on Tuesdays), I thought it would be fitting to begin a sub-series within the Whims: Monthly Favorites! So here goes nothing....

1. Clarisonic Mia (Sephora)  2. similar Bracelet (Etsy)
3. Jewelry tree (DIY)  4. Honey Nut Cheerios

1. Favorite pamper item (skincare? makeup? nails?)

Hands down my Clarisonic Mia 2! I finally asked my dad to get it for me for my birthday after having eyed it for forever (by forever, I mean since around junior year of high school 4 years ago). I've been using it every night and my skin is so shiny-smooth now (in Catherine's words, like a baby's bottom)!

2. Favorite wearable piece (if you can put it on your body then it goes in this category)

Since I made my jewelry tree, I've been wearing my jewelry a lot more now - and I've rediscovered a bracelet that my friend Alyssa bought me last year for Christmas! It's a copper band that says "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good", and has all the qualities that I like: simple, elegant, with a touch of nerd.

3. Favorite DIY project (including but not limited to DIY projects that I've done, seen, or wanted to do)

Definitely the jewelry tree I mentioned earlier! It's definitely the one thing I've gotten the most use out of, and it's a great decoration piece too.

4. Favorite munchie (tried and true snacks, recipes, and anything that looks good)

I must (shamefully) say that it would be Honey Nut Cheerios. I bought a Family size box a couple weeks ago (and then another last week) and it's been my go-to snack while lying in bed and surfing the web. Funnily enough, I don't actually really eat it for breakfast.

5. Favorite blogger (self explanatory)

Since I'm new to all of this, obviously I'll rep one of my friends - Catherine, at Bottom of the Top! She writes about her side of the MIT experience (which is greatly different from mine, since she's a real scientist majoring in Chemical Engineering while I'm off to the side hoping that the stuff I design doesn't fall over...)
